Co-working is taking Australia by storm with shared offices in areas as diverse as Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide – and now Armidale with the opening of Workspace New England. Workspace is calling on all businesses in Armidale and surrounds seeking an affordable office space, or a venue for training days and events, to come in and tour the area’s latest co-working resource. Free trials are being offered to interested parties
Co-working is a style of work that involves a shared office environment. It’s great for people who work from home, entrepreneurs, small businesses or frequent travellers. It’s also useful to hire the space for conferences, training days or events.
TIME Business & Money recently promoted co-working as an excellent way to help small businesses stay lean. The shared arrangement is more affordable than leasing an office space but more professional than hosting clients in your living room. The boardroom can also be hired to brainstorm, meet with clients or host large groups, including the use of an interactive “smart board” for presentations and video-conferencing, which is a first of its kind technology in The New England.
The smart board features touch control allowing users to change pages and enlarge or move an object, while a touch pen lets them make annotations, keep track of new proposals, and maintain the focus of discussions, simultaneously displaying text, images, and handwritten notes. Once documents created on any application software have been imported as images and displayed on the touchscreen, users can quickly write and draw directly on the screen surface using the touch pen or a finger. Screen images can be enlarged or rotated and handwritten notations such as text and drawings can be selected and moved around. What’s more, everything on the screen can be saved or exported for printout, making it easy to keep accurate records of brainstorming sessions and meetings. It’s an incredible resource for businesses in Armidale and surrounding areas!
Workspace offers unlimited high-speed broadband and NBN cable access for large data users – the NBN is literally on our doorstep. Additionally, the space is designed with people – not robots – in mind. The office comes with custom-made recycled timber desks, pendant light-shades, couches, and break out spaces to collaborate.
Workspace New England allows people to start a business or take it to the next level, without the pressure of a long-term contract. Ongoing membership or day passes are available starting at $22 per day. Our boardroom with interactive smart board is available at an hourly or daily rate.
