The inner-northern village of New Farm has long been a place to connect with others. Relax in the beautifully shaded surrounds of New Farm Park, where picnickers seem almost permanently perched on deck chairs and checked rugs.

The historic Brisbane Powerhouse, situated right next to New Farm Park, is also a must-see, playing host to live arts, weekend farmers markets and moonlight cinema (seasonal).

By Bus The suburb is serviced by several bus routes to and from the city centre and West End. Bus stops are located on Brunswick Street, a 5 minute walk from Jacaranda Cottage.
By Ferry New Farm is serviced via two CityCat stops (operated by Brisbane Transport) at Sydney Street and at New Farm Park. The CityCat stops in New Farm are about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from Jacaranda Cottage and take you on a journey to Southbank, the city CBD and beyond to the University of Queensland.
At the river end of Brunswick Street, at New Farm Park a small cross-river ferry (also operated by Brisbane Transport) links New Farm with Norman Park.
