We (David and Judi) are a professional couple who have raised our own families and for the past eight years have welcomed guests to share our home with us. Over the years we have enjoyed the company of renters from all over the world – arriving as strangers to us (and often to Australia) our guests have become friends and we have really enjoyed being part of their experience as they have become part of the Australian community. Our families have become close friends with their families and we have been lucky enough to be involved in their lives – even their weddings!As locals with a great deal of experience in life and in living in Brisbane we are always happy to help and advise you with anything from helping you to arrange your tax file information and paperwork to providing you with local contacts for anything you need. THE HOMEOur home is an immense historical Queenslander in a beautiful leafy South Brisbane suburb. This spacious five bedroom home is split over two large floors featuring a downstairs paved patio and large upstairs covered balcony perfect for outdoor dining and entertaining. Newly renovated this lovely home offers all the charm of a traditional period home with the cool airiness offered by nine foot high ceilings and open fretwork above the door frames allowing cooling river breezes to circulate. The 2009 renovation features elegant new interior design modern bathroom and laundry facilities and two kitchens featuring all new appliances. The upper floor contains the master bedroom with ensuite and guest room extra bathroom living and dining rooms first kitchen and deck We primarily spend our time on the upper floor which is accessed via a separate entrance and stairway.The rooms offered are on the self-contained lower floor. This large crisp white double bedroom is extremely spacious (over 9 m2) with high ceilings giving a sense of an even greater area while a ceiling fan provides refreshing cooling. The room is fully furnished with a queen bed fitted wardrobes and additional furniture. Beautiful linen is provided for your use. The second bedroom is smaller however it has the same ammenities as the other bedroom.The downstairs area also has a separate living area fully furnished and with a television (Foxtel included). There is also a fully equipped kitchen with all appliances. The ground floor has a bathroom with a shower and a bath and the laundry adjoins.There are three bedrooms on the ground floor. One of the bedrooms is currently occupied by a young Australian male 25 (our son).As well as offering you a beautiful living environment we have FOXTEL and WIRELESS INTERNET both of which are available for your use free of charge.THE LOCATION AND TRANSPORTYeerongpilly is a beautiful riverside suburb just 7km from the city centre. We are located on Livingstone St just 150m from Yeerongpilly train station the train service is a fast and convenient service to the city (15 mins) and the Gold Coast (45 mins). QUT students can take the train to South Bank (10 mins) and walk across the Goodwill Bridge to the Garden Point campus.The Eleanor Schonell bridge goes from Dutton Park (7 minutes by train) to St Lucia offering pedestrian cycle and bus access to the beautiful UQ campus. We are also just across the river from the fantastic shopping and entertainment at Indooroopilly – all the best and major brands and labels are available in this shopping mecca as well as cinemas restaurants and more. Local shopping centres are Moorooka Yeronga and Fairfield Gardens.If you have your own car there is plenty of parking available and we are conveniently located near to the highway intersection offering you easy access to anywhere in Queensland! Brisbane international airport is just 30 minutes away.The room alone is offered for rental at $200 (including Foxtel wireless internet and all amenities). If you would like to join us to share our meals we are happy to arrange this at a minimal extra cost. We are happy to take couples however this needs to be negotiated.
