(Short term accommodation between 21st June and 29th July only)
An exciting opportunity to rent an exceedingly high ceilinged room in sunny Brisbane. The flat is Indooroopilly, great for visitors to UQ which is but a ten minute bus ride away. Several sets of stores are within a five minute stroll, and the large (formally largest in the southern hemisphere) Indooroopilly shopping centre is 10 minutes walk down the road. The bus/train to the city is also close, and the combined walking/commuting time is usually half an hour.

You will be staying with two postgrad engineering students (male mid 20′s). We have quite the culinary tradition (between us owning no less than four Jamie Oliver, two Heston Blumenthal and eight other cook books), which will titillate your taste buds as you so desire. The garage is also set up as a productive home brewery, so if you are into drinking good beer this will certainly wet your whistle in-between trips to some of Brisbane’s up and coming craft beer bars.

The room has a spacious shared bathroom, built in cupboard, double bed and exceedingly high ceilings (seriously I am talking six metres here) which is underutilized space that would be well suited for an exceedingly tall person! You can wake up and enjoy making breakfast in the kitchen looking out over Mt. Cootha, and then have a relaxing coffee on our secluded balcony which is practically inside a Jacaranda tree. If you are around at the start of October and the tree is in flower, it is literally like being in a purple cloud! If it is not in flower, you can always be entertained by the antics of my cichlids and clown loach (fish) that will compete with the TV for your attention.

The house has ADSL 2+ Internet access, but no phone line. We also have our own washing machine and dryer, so no need to go traipsing to the laundromat. If you bring a car you will sadly be stuck with on street parking as the garage is devoted to our brewing endeavours. For those of a more active bent, I have a spare bicycle that can be included in the price, but be warned that the area is quite hilly so you may want to account for how much your quadriceps will swell with muscle when selecting pants to bring. The unit is actually on third floor and only accessible by stairs, so your quadriceps will get a work out anyway, although it does raise the point that it will not be suitable for the movement impaired.
