The Pods is a uniquely designed beach house, providing luxury while still being close to nature. Set on an acre of pristine virgin forest in Sunrise near Agnes Water, an ecologically sensitive, award winning, gated community, the Pods were designed by Simon Laws of Anthill Constructions specifically for the site.

Mature Bloodwoods and Cabbage Palms create a natural garden near the ocean and the famous Springs beach, in Sunrise Eco-estate, near Agnes Water, the most northerly surf break on the east Australian coast. You can just lie around one of the many pools overlooking the ocean or walk the 4 kilometers of beautiful beach.

Living, sleeping pods and a bath house are separated for privacy and quiet but connected by a wooden walkway. The wonderful bushland setting and mild sub-tropical climate is full of birds and wildlife, including black cockatoos and grey kangaroos. Rainwater tanks, solar hot water and electricity make this passive energy efficient design a low environmental impact.

They provide the perfect base from which to walk to the many secluded beaches to which Sunrise has private access. Drive on the private internal roads to one of the beach clubs where you’ll find beautiful suspended 25M pools, free tennis and volleyball courts, modern amenities and luxury BBQ huts with solid dining settings and magnificent ocean views.

Life at The Pods centres around the main living pod with its huge integrated covered wooden deck and circular marble dining table. Move seamlessly through wide doorways from the modern kitchen with 5 burner gas stove, fridge with ice maker and water cooler and quiet dishwasher to outside dining on the shady deck.

All pods and the main deck are connected by the covered wooden walkways. The beautiful bathroom pod features walls and floor of Italian travertine with an open shower, deep bath and art glass door that opens in or out allowing you to shower effectively inside or ‘outdoors’.

The two bedroom pods hold three single beds each with the possibility of making a king sized bed from two singles. Linen is provided for both single and king sized beds. The floors are of polished native timber and the screened windows slide to open an entire wall width to the forest outside. Linen, towels and doonas (should they ever be required) are provided.

Of the 625 hectares that form “Sunrise”, 97.5% remains untouched by development, with three quarters of the land dedicated as a permanent nature conservation reserve. This ensures that Sunrise’s vision will remain true forever.
No other coastal development in Queensland can boast that 97.5% of the land available is permanently conserved and adds to the area’s already considerable list of National Parks and Nature Reserves.

Sunrise at 1770 rests along four kilometres of beachfront land. National Park and Nature Reserves will surround the “Sunrise” community on all sides, with residents having access to any one of six surf beaches where they can choose to swim, surf or wander along the beaches pure white sands.

Two ocean side clubs will form the epicentre of “Sunrise’s” social gatherings, allowing patrons to gaze into the turquoise waters etching the coastline.

Club facilities designed by Dellarose Swanson’s “Awaken Designs” boasts two twenty-five metre pools, children’s shaded pool, tennis courts, changing and storage facilities, outdoor dining and barbeque facilities and direct beach access.
