Whats in the name? Henry Sutton was born in Ballarat, Victoria in September, 1856. Not widely known, he was in fact a brilliant inventor. Alexander Graeme Bell is credited with inventing the telephone, 12 months later, Henry Sutton perfected it (he had just turned 21). Regrettably, others took out patents on 16 of his telephonic creations.
He also invented a vacuum pump, the principles of which were adopted by the Swan Edison Company in creating vacuums in electric light bulbs. Then there was his theory on television in 1890 to find out more, google Henry Sutton, its a very interesting read.
