St David’s Church in Uralla would have to be one of the most prominent and identifiable structures in the Uralla business district. It was originally constructed in 1904 and was administered by the Armidale Church. The first wedding was held just after construction and was officiated by Rev James Love. Eventually in 1919 Uralla was given its own minister, Rev George Cowie, as noted on the Presbyterian Roll. The building originally had its Uralla redbrick exposed, however in 1909 it was rendered. The Church has been privately owned for some time and would make an excellent space for a variety of different commercial enterprises.

The Church hall has been converted into a caretaker’s cottage with the erection of internal walls. This has been done sympathetically and has created a beautiful and warm living space. The cottage has plenty of character and a great country feel with features including a gorgeous combustion stove in the kitchen (imported from the UK), beautiful polished floors throughout, and stained glass windows. The kitchen/dining room and lounge rooms are at separate ends of the house, creating two separate living areas. A fantastic addition has been veranda along the western side of the cottage. It is a beautiful sunny spot and can be easily accessed from the kitchen or via the French door in the bedroom and lounge.

The church is very solidly built and provides a beautiful, ambient and open space. This could be utilised for such purposes as a book shop, professional suite, function room, cafe or gallery (STCA). The shedding behind the church is currently being used as garaging, however it could lend its self to storage or a workshop for whatever enterprise was being undertaken in the main building.

If you are looking to establish or move a business this unusual property should definitely be considered. The location, prominence and history would be a huge asset to enterprise, whilst the cottage provides an excellent accommodation offering. Please call the team at RandW to book your private viewing.
