Twenty years ago a savvy family stood on a block in a cul-de-sac at a new development called Solander Shores. After much thought and deliberation they picked a block to build the parents dream retirement home. They looked at the due North aspect to the canal, they calculated the amazingly short stroll to the shopping centre-literally around the corner, and marvelled at the sunsets they would cherish. Warm Winter sun and cool refreshing Summer breezes were assured. They settled on the block.
A thoughtful design was chosen and built, from the surprisingly large master overlooking the water to the views afforded from the living areas and the kitchen-this was a deliberate process of practicality. Settling on a design incorporating 4 bedrooms and a study (for the retired headmaster owner) purposely 3 bedrooms were placed on one side of the home with the master and study on the other.
A formal lounge with high canterlievered ceilings was placed overlooking the water, as well as a family room open to the kitchen, and of course the water views.
Landscaping was lovingly completed by the owners-including planting a Poinsiana tree which today floats gently over the canal. A pool was tucked in at the rear of the home to provide fun and laughter over the years for the family and visiting friends. The canal frontage provided the opportunity for a big pontoon if needed and ease of access in turning a heavy boat.
Moving forward, life’s next stage has the family once again making a decision. It is time for a sale and to that end they have elected to auction their cherished property on June 15th 2013 on site at 12:15pm. The home will be open for inspection every Saturday from 12noon until 12:45pm. If you are in the market for a simply delightful lowset canal home, literally an easy stroll to the Banksia shops, transport, bowls club and the spectacular Pumicestone Passage, please view 1 Cutter Court at either our open home(s) or by private inspection.
