Aeroglen is located 4 kilometres from the CBD, on the eastern slopes of Lumley Hill, and to the west of the airport. It has a mixture of housing types, and a number of sport and recreation spaces and facilities. Aeroglen is about 8 mins drive north of Cairns CBD.

The population of Aeroglen is relatively stable, and is restricted in terms of future population by the lack of land available in the area for development. There are a number of older Queensland-style homes that have been well-renovated in the suburb but little high-density housing.
