Brilliantly conceived by the current owners and wonderfully designed by multi award winning Sydney architects Casey Brown, TAMARIND has been described as the quintessential contemporary Australian farm house, a fusion of Japanese architecture and Australian shearing sheds.

The owners brief was for a design where there are no boundaries between the home and the natural environment, and the steel and glass construction has dispensed with the need for any exterior walls.

The boomerang shaped home sits lightly on the edge of a beautiful dam, it simply blends into its surroundings and embraces the landscape. There are two pavilions linked by a large covered outdoor dining and entertaining area, with stackable glass sliding walls and bifold doors disappearing, merging inside and outside to become one.

The home is also designed to be environmentally friendly. The north east aspect allows cooling summer breezes to pass over the dam and then be sucked up through the double roof to cool the home. In winter, the northern sun warms the home during the day, and a Jetmaster wood fire provides cosy nights.

No expense was spared in the construction of the home. There are 6m Victorian Ash ceilings with a New Guinea Rosewood ceiling apron incorporating ventilation louvers, Tallowwood polished floors throughout, American White Oak cabinetry, stainless steel kitchen benchtops and Kleenmaid appliances, large walk through polished concrete bathrooms, polished concrete outdoor kitchen/BBQ area, 7m high outdoor living area, and extensive outdoor lighting.

The land is as important to the property as the home. Your own private valley ensures absolute peace and privacy, yet you are only minutes from the bustling Noosa Hinterland township of Cooroy and a short drive to Noosa. Water creates a place of peace and tranquility, a retreat that you will never want to leave. Water lilies, turtles and native birdlife abound in this natural sanctuary. The owners have regenerated what was previously a cattle and vegetable growing property, with many varieties of native and exotic trees interspersed by open grassland. Wildlife corridors are now home to over 60 bird varieties. There are 4 food producing groves including 60 mixed citrus trees, a plantation of olive trees, an orchard of mango, avocado and pecan trees, and a large vegetable garden.

This property is unique; you will never find another like it. There are too many features to list, only an inspection will allow you to truly appreciate it. Inspections are by appointment, so give me a call. Ref: 181
