Adelong is a place-name derived from an Aboriginal language meaning “along the way” or “plain with a river”.

INTRODUCTION
The property offered for sale is approx. 67 acres (27.35 ha) in an oblong shape, running from the main Maleny-Kenilworth road, east to the Mary River.
This property is 2 kms from Kenilworth, with approx 400 meters of bitumen road frontage to Maleny-Kenilworth Road. The opposite boundary in the east has 250 meters of Mary River frontage. The river frontage has been fenced and the riparian area extensively planted with native trees and shrubs.

The entire property is fenced into paddocks with two main dams and a bore, supplying water troughs, sheds and home garden. The whole property has a good coverage of pasture grasses and has never been overgrazed.

Approx 10 acres around the house and sheds is fenced off from stock.

Most of the farm is gently sloping to the river with a ridge running from the main road to the houses, providing all weather access.

This is a drought-proof property as the alluvial flats hold the moisture and provide pasture at dry times. The plentiful water supply with the two dams, bore and water licence, ensure a good supply of water. The river water licence can allow the main dam to be filled from the river. Underground piping allows for pumping of water the full length of the farm.

Prior to the current owners, this entire property was certified as an ACO organic farm (Milford Organic Farm Pty Ltd), growing mushrooms (in 12 controlled environment sheds) and organic small-crops (strawberries, tomatoes, squash, zucchini and eggplants). At the time of full production it was one of the major employers in Kenilworth. Eight mushroom sheds and infrastructure remain.

3 phase power throughout – sheds, house, bore, irrigation pump.

The entrance gate is controlled electronically by mobile phone and/or hand held remote.

The main house is located on a natural domed rise that gives extensive views of the Mary Valley – to the Kenilworth Bluff in the north and to the Mary river and Mt Walli beyond. Such a location always provides cool breezes in summer.
