Waikerie Golf Club, located 2 hours east of Adelaide is at the Gateway to the Riverland wine region. This 18-hole Par 72 5,936 metre course was originally established in the 1960′s on a vacant wheat paddock in the area known locally as Sunlands. Re-designed to its current layout by Brian Crafter in 1969, with oiled sand scrape putting surfaces it was eventually planted by a team of dedicated local volunteers over the long hot summer of 1987. Supported and managed by locals over the decades the opportunity has arisen for the course and its’ fully licenced function centre to be privately owned. Once boasting a position among the top ten golf courses across the State of South Australia Waikerie Golf Course is waiting to start its newest and most prosperous chapter. The current owners have priced the facility reasonable enough to allow its new owners to invest in the course and begin to build the business right from the start. The function centre and club rooms have fully functional kitchen and bar facilities enabling alfresco luncheons, sporting functions, weddings or conferences to be catered for. Membership of the club is strong and there is a constant string of touring golfers booked to play the course. The course is offered on a walk in walk out basis with all facilities in place including a full working plant and all offerings are on an as is basis. Once a community owned and run course other pressures and ongoing commitments of its members has seen the club go through some pretty dire times, it is time to privatise and look forward. From an investment standpoint the Waikerie Golf course has the support of local council and community and all are waiting to begin the next chapter in its proud long history.
An opportunity not to be missed..
