This beautiful, old, symetrical, stone cottage was constructed in 1850 and is the original Bellevue School run by the Reverend Isaac Prior from the 1850′s to 1873.
During this era the two small villages of Bellevue and Gloucester were settled by farmers from Devonshire, with the main economic activity being cereal crops plus a few vines being planted by Thomas Hardy.
The villages grew and merged and by 1866 the town became knows as McLaren Vale.
The area is steeped in history and we are now proud to offer the old ‘Bellevue School’ building for sale.
Over the years the building has been used primarily as a private residence or a B&B and sits on a large 1000 square allotment (approx).
The home now offers the lucky new owners 2 large living areas, 2 bedrooms, a sumptuous bathroom with spa and a tidy timber kitchen overlooking the garden.
Flagstones of Willunga slate run through the main lounge room, the 2 bedrooms and the kitchen/dine whilst the family room boasts timber floor tiles.
If the idea of living in a lovely old historic home with thick stone walls and high timber ceilings appeals to you, phone me now to arrange your inspection.
