Ida Bay steam sawmill was located on this land until 1930 and the remnants of the steam boiler remain as a historic reminder. At the front of the property on the crown land reserve there is an old rustic jetty where Australia’s oldest sail trading vessel The May Queen tied up, the May Queen was built in 1867 and has now been restored and is docked in Hobart.
