This is your chance to immerse yourself in an era where craftsmanship and style were paramount.

This iconic Georgian homestead sits ever so proudly in the picturesque village of Exton. This area between Westbury and Deloraine is part of Meander Valley which is a popular tourist area that is renowned for its magnificent scenery and post card views of the Western Tiers.

This home has such a rich history and was built as “The Marsh Inn”, circa 1850 for Mr William Walter Motton. Mr Motton who was known as “Billy The Peacock” because of his fancy dressing style. He owned a stage coach business which operated between Westbury and Launceston in the 1840′s, and was also a very successful jockey.

In the 1860′s a third level was added as servant’s quarters as well as an additional wing which was a bar with a dance floor above. It was renamed “Exton Hotel” in the 1890′s and has been a private residence since the 1920′s.

In the 1960′s it was purchased by the Wray family from Yorkshire England who renamed it “Exton Grange”. Mr Neville Wray was a builder by trade and made several modifications to the roof line and added the wing on the southern side.

Over the last 7 years the home has been lovingly restored by members of the Wray family who have done an amazing job tastefully embracing the original features and combining them with modern luxuries.

Exton Grange has been cherished by the current owners for almost 60 years and they would now like to ensure its preservation for future generations.

The next chapter for this grand old lady could be a very exciting one for the successful purchaser and the opportunities are almost endless.

With Launceston and Devonport both just 30 minutes away and so many tourists flowing through in the area this would make a fantastic home, boutique micro brewery, distillery or exclusive hotel.
