When you love your independence and would like to retire in very comfortable surroundings with all the privacy you could wish for, and alternately all the amenities and activities you could ever hope for, along with the peace of mind provided by a buzzer system, and the comfort of a spacious three bedroom unit ever so close to the Village Centre, you need to put this one at the top of your inspection list.

This is far more like a house than a unit. A spacious open plan living area incorporates lounge dining and kitchen and is flooded with natural light. Kept temperate with a reverse cycle split system which is affordable to run without worrying, like everything else in the home, thanks to the 6 panel – 1wk solar system. The kitchen itself is very pretty as well as functional with cork tiles, a drawer style dishwasher, electric cooking, insinkerator, pantry, lattice-look leadlight display cabinet and a lovely outlook over nearby bushland.

Adjoining the lounge through double sliding doors is a bedroom size room which really could be used for any purpose you like, be it formal dining, separate sitting room, hobby room or den. As you go down the hall leading to the other two bedrooms, which are both over-sized with built-in-robes and the main with a ceiling fan, you cant help but notice the abundance of storage space on offer here, with two double door linen presses in the hall and the laundry has a built-in-closet too.

Two of the bedrooms are conveniently located just across the hall from a large three piece bathroom with an IXL-tastic, a flex shower-head and plenty of cupboard, drawer and bench space. The toilet is central and separate, while the end of the hall offers discrete direct access to the large single garage with a remote control roller door.

Other noteworthy attributes are the gas hot water service, tank water for the lovely green gardens, concrete paths, a comfortably sized yard which feel very private, thanks to the screening plants, though it is unfenced. Also here a wonderful paved pergola with lattice and laserlite invites you to sit and enjoy the sunshine and greenery.

When you have had enough alfresco dining and entertaining you may find yourself tempted to take a very very short walk to the Village Center to take full advantage of the services and amenities available to you. Not only will you and your family have the security and peace of mind of a 24-hour emergency response system with buttons in the master bedroom, bathroom and phone, as well as a water-proof pendant which can be worn. But the village also has golf buggies, a bus, and gardeners, although you’re welcome to tend your own garden if you wish.

The Bendigo Retirement Village is a friendly community of retirees enjoying like minded company and the excellent shared facilities, such as the indoor community center with billiard table, gym, book/DVD library, and bar – with a happy hour! Outdoors, you’ll discover a brand new BBQ area, and a vegetable garden where you can tend your own patch. Service amenities include a post office, on-site chef (for those days when you don’t want to cook), visiting hairdresser and doctor, prescription delivery, and a regular free bus service to local shopping centres.

There are also many on-site activities such as indoor bowls, mahjong, various clubs, art, dance and exercise classes, and religious services. There are also activities such as shopping trips, market or park visits, special occasion lunches and excursions. Plus you can participate as much or as little as you like – it’s your choice!

Residents must be over 55 and a separate contract is entered into with the Village.
