An original miners cottage is up for sale and they don’t come as original as this one. Sources have indicated that the property was built in 1858. This makes it one of the earliest buildings in Victoria, which became a separate State in 1835.The Cottage was one of three built in Daylesford by a father for his daughters. It remained in the same family for over a hundred years.
Renovated in 2000 and many of the original features, characteristics and nostalgia of a Miners Cottage have been retained, such as the open fireplace, wooden floors, high ceilings and a tranquil cottage garden. Modern facilities have been added to this five-roomed brick cottage, including a spa bath and central heating. This is one of Daylesford’s most historical assets. Only a couple minutes walk into town and close to shops, cafes, restaurants, post office, schools and the bus stop. The property sits on approx. 470m2 of land. The cottage offers you 2 bedrooms (one open bedroom), one living area with an open fire place, a country style kitchen/meals room with gas cooking, rear sun room overlooking the leafy backyard and a bathroom offering you a shower over a corner spa bath. Other special features include : original floor boards, ducted heating, high ceilings, outside laundry, privacy and rear decking. Truly a unique piece of real estate and history.
