Set in this friendly neighbourhood and surrounded by elegant homes of quality and class, tucked away in one of the suburbs preferred streets is this HIA ‘Award Winning’ home.

Designing a home for a sub dividable block is always a challenge, but through the use of tall windows, a bulkhead in the kitchen, wall recesses and strategic lighting, the design team from Dale Alcock Homes have succeeded in creating an overall feeling of space.

The feeling starts from the moment of walking through the front door – the study to the left has a glass entry, a clever design element that prevents the connecting corridor feeling as though it is enclosed.

Down this corridor past the study is a sunken lounge room and a courtyard, both of which work together to take advantage of the entire width of the home.

The main bedroom is in the middle and forms a “corner’ so that all the space that is available can be used constructively. The corridor continues past the main bedroom and has full-length windows looking out over a stone path and garden.

Marri floors are a feature throughout and the kitchen has stylish, black-granite bench-tops with matching cupboard knobs.

At the back, separated from the living room by a glass door are the two remaining bedrooms, a laundry and a bathroom. All the bedrooms are carpeted as is the sunken lounge room.

Open planning is the key in the meals area, kitchen and living room with the meals area leading to a cool alfresco area in the garden. The outdoor dining area has terracotta tiles and a peaked roof. It adjoins a lawn backed by a garden bed with a limestone wall.

The design ensures that the owners did not have to compromise on space for the outdoor area. With a lovely stone path down one side and established shrubs creating a lush garden. Space has been so adroitly managed there is even an over-sized double garage with storage.

The home has many extras such as dual evaporative and reverse cycle split system air conditioners, a 3kw North facing recently installed electric solar panels, alarm, security grills & garden shed.
