New Life Cottage owes it’s name to the fact that the house was an old maternity hospital dating back to 1890, and was picked up and moved on a truck from the nearby suburb of St Johns Wood to it’s present location. It is also located on a road which is a sacred Aboriginal path to Mount Cootha – called the place of the Honeybee Dreaming. With a private front courtyard and leafy garden, this is a place you can enjoy a morning coffee and breakfast.
Entry into the front courtyard is either from the driveway or front gate down a set of stair that opens up into the front court yard. Up the stoop to the front door, it opens up into the dinning room on the left and 1st bedroom on the left with built-in cupboards.
Straight ahead is the the lounge room with the 2nd bedroom off to the left. This 2nd bedroom will only fit a single bed, or can be a small study. Through lounge room to the modern renovated kitchen, there is a dishwasher, oven, and cook top with storage enough space to make everyone happy.

Ashgrove shopping precinct (Aldi, Woolies, Coles) and restaurants are 5 min drive towards the city or west Ashgrove shops (Red Rooster, GYM, BWS) 1 min in the other direction.
Ashgrove State school is very close by and within walking distance. Ithaca Creek is around the corner and along this creek there is a bike-way that goes all the way to the city in one direction and is 30 minutes by foot into the bush and forest walks of Mount Cootha in the other direction.
The bus route is across the road with the 380, 381, 379, 385. 15 mins trip into queen st mall in peak hour traffic as there is a bus lane.
Normandy is an 8 min bus ride and in the same location is QUT Kelvin Grove, with a 10min additional walk from the Normandy bus Stop.
