This local landmark represents the first private land holding at Bo Bo Creek. Initially purchased in 1847 by Mr William Middleton, it soon became a popular stop over and resting place for travellers.
It was later bequeathed to Anne Wills and remained in the Wills family for a further 125 years whilst operating as a dairy farm and offering boarding accommodation for the various school teachers appointed to the nearby Bo Bo Creek School.
Today the property still holds much of its history and charm and you can imagine the school kids heading down to the swimming holes for an afternoon dip.
The current home was built in 1916 with extensive use of red mahogany and tallowood timbers which has been lovingly restored to provide a warm and welcoming period home.
Features such as polished floorboards, 10 foot ceilings, kitchen with original brick hearth fireplace, leadlight windows, timber fretwork, bathroom complete with claw foot bath, double french doors, 2 living areas, original period fireplace, sunroom and 6 foot verandahs on 3 sides combine to create an old world ambiance, evoking fond memories of times gone by.
The home is set amongst beautiful old gardens and has an outdoor courtyard perfect for entertaining as well as in ground pool perfect for the summer months.
Numerous outbuildings include a large historic 3 bay timber slab barn, a 6 bay hay shed, a workshop, an old dairy converted to a 1 bedroom self contained accommodation and of course the old Bo Bo Creek School building which has big open planned self contained accommodation also. The possibilities of a B & B or farm stay as a sideline is very real here.
The land it self consists of 20 acres of good creek flats and the remaining 9 acres is gently sloping kikuyu covered country. Water is no problem with 3 dams and excellent Bo Bo Creek frontage with swimming holes.
With so many charming and historical features you really need to wander through this beautiful home, listen to the echoes of the past and let your imagination open the doors.
