Properties of this size, so close to the beach, with these ocean views, offering complete privacy and so easily accessible from an unspoilt coastal town, are incredibly rare.

Point Plomer Road, just north of Port Macquarie, accesses some of the North Coast’s most beautiful, pristine beaches and has a unique place in Australia’s surf folklore.

It remains like so much of the north coast once was; long deserted beaches, rugged headlands, forests and occasional small farms. On the coastal side of the “Back Road” a strip of national park stretches from Point Plomer to Crescent Head.

There are regular sightings of whales over the months of their migration and pods of dolphins continually trawl the beaches. Local wetlands support a huge variety of birdlife. Kangaroos, dingoes, koalas and goannas are among the native wildlife that freely roams the surrounding scenically protected mountains and the inland flood plain. There are an array of legendary surf spots including Racecourse, Delicate Nobby, Big Hill, Point Plomer and “Queens”.

This unique property is one of the only properties on the Point Plomer Road that has panoramic ocean views. The property is located on a scenically protected mountain only a kilometre from the village, on a section of Point Plomer Road that has been tarred. You get all the benefits of living on the “Back Road” without the wear and tear of the dirt.

The house is set in native bushland on a sloping seven acres that overlooks the ocean from the “Big Nobby” at Crescent Head to Racecourse to the south. The house is nicely protected from the prevailing nor’easters by the ‘Big Nobby’ headland.

Built in the eighties the large brick building is perfect as a family home, holiday house, rental property, couple’s retreat or renovate the home in to your dream home.

The kitchen and entertainment areas occupy the upper floor, along with the master bedroom (with ensuite and walk-in robe) and laundry (with an additional toilet). The upper floor is wrapped by a huge timber verandah that soars above the landscape. Downstairs has three bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, lounge and an outside deck.

There is a double garage upstairs and a single garage downstairs, plus plenty of additional storage space. The home is connected to town water and garbage collection.

Being out of town the night skies are special, you couldn’t feel further away from the pace, crowds and traffic of the city.

Crescent Head is an unspoilt coastal town on the mid north coast of New South Wales. The town is bookended by two coastal national parks and has a flood plain that protects it from ever suffering the rampant development that has changed other naturally beautiful coastal areas. There are no traffic lights or backpacker hostels.

There are a variety of quality fishing options including tidal creeks, beaches, rocks and open water. The pristine sites for scuba diving include the world-famous “Cave Rock”, just off South West Rocks, with its gutters teeming with grey nurse sharks.

A spectacular 6 hole golf course that hugs the coastline, they also offer lawn bowls and tennis. Kempsey is the nearest large town, on the Pacific Highway, twenty kilometres inland and has a hospital and five supermarkets. The closest airport is about 60 kilometres south in Port Macquarie, where a number of airlines fly to Sydney, Brisbane and regional centres. There are also plans for a new route to Melbourne.

Port Macquarie offers a full range of medical specialists and a large regional hospital. It is about 430 Kilometres to Sydney by road, nearly all of which is now dual carriageway. Crescent Head has an excellent pre-school and primary school, while there are five secondary schools in Kempsey, serviced by buses from Crescent Head.

Crescent Head’s weather is amongst the most temperate in the world.
