WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We have a very special parcel of land that has been enjoyed for many years but also preserved as a safe environment for the abundance of wildlife that frequent this hidden paradise.
Located just a short distance from our beautiful coastline and the desirable riverside village of Chatsworth on the Clarence River.
Entering this beautiful property is like turning back the hands of time. After weaving your way into the property through amazing subtropical bushland you arrive at the very private home site which in itself reflects a postcard setting.
To eliminate the risk of bushfire the owners have cleared a buffer of approximately six acres around the home. This buffer has provided ample space for the aesthetically appealing and environmentally friendly home, a large block brick style shed, mixed fruit & citrus orchard and plenty of open space to frolic.
The double brick home was designed to be energy efficient with a small stand alone solar system in place, gas appliances, solar hot water, wood fuel stove, glass brick panels for natural light, tank plus TOWN WATER and a wood heater to ensure your comfort.
Your fruit basket will never be empty with a wide variety of mature trees continually bearing crops. Fruit trees include Mangos ~ Mulberries ~ Custard apples ~ Lychees ~ Jaboticaba ~ Guava ~ Passionfruit ~ Macadamias ~ Ice Cream Bean tree ~ Loquats ~ Late Valencia ~ Navel oranges ~ Grapefruit ~ Limes & Mandarins.
The home, shedding, fruit orchard and other improvements are all great but the balance of this very unique forty seven acre parcel of natural paradise is what makes it so special.
Some of the present vegetation throughout the property consist of 120 year old re-growth Acacia / Vine forest featuring Wild grape ~ Swamp Mahogany ~ Grey Ironbark ~ Bloodwood ~ Flooded Gum ~ Coastal Teatree ~ Coastal Banksia ~ Tallowwood and a wide variety of ferns and mosses that border a picturesque natural creek line.
A bird species count in the area conducted from 1st – 7th June 2002 produced 96 distinct species over the forty seven acres. Some of these species included Grey Fantail ~ Eastern Yellow Robin ~ Tree Creeper ~ Wompoo & Green Pigeons ~ Noisy Pitta ~ Tawney Frogmouth ~ Rufus Whistler and many more.
During my visit to the property there was evidence of very recent Koala scuff marks on a Tallowwood tree close to the home and fresh scats below. Other fauna that frequent this haven include Echidnas ~ Possums ~ Kangaroos ~ Wallabies ~ Wallaroos ~ Potaroos ~ and numerous species of Phascogale.
Unfortunately its time in life for the current owners to very reluctantly move on. This hidden paradise really is worthy of future preservation.
If you care about the environment but are not in a position to buy this very special property yourself, maybe you could get together with a group and purchase as tenants in common? Together we can help!
