Welcome to ‘Burrawang’, sitting alongside the upper Clyde rover in southern New South Wales. The Barn is a purpose built home on Fourty acres, with a 400 metre river frontage of fresh water – Base fishing.

This heritage styled home in the Shallow Crossing State Forest, with its exposed beams, reciprocate 16th – 17th century buildings of distinction, found in southern England and Northern Europe. Many of the early buildings have been restored to the former glory.

Timbers used are all Australian hard woods of Iron bark, Bluegum, Strigy bark and Bush mahogany. The property includes a boat shed and a land based houseboat.
This property is priced realistically for the discerning buyer, requiring the privacy if this forest location. The property was first surveyed in 1895-6 and occupied by a family of Cedar gatherers and Bullock team operators. the site of the original two room cottage is here and the original barn site is where the current Barn home now stands. The site is also an old gold claim.

Approximately five acres of this forest property is grassed, with mature trees such as Red cedar, Chinese elm, Maple, Applegum and of course Blue gum, Stringybark, Mahoigany, Ironbark and Burrawangs.

THE BARN
The massive frame of this two storey building, some fourteen metre by seven metre, being purpose designed and built using Ironbark columns, Stringybark beams and supports incorporating the traditional 90 ; 45 ; and 30 angles, forming the load bearing structure.

The building is clad with Bluegum boards with foil insulation under the plaster boards set in the beams and supports. the result is white with exposed black timber. Flooring in Bluegum board with the stair stringers to the mezzanine floor in Bush mahogany.

The mezzanine floor with master bedroom is seven by seven metres. The building in essence, is divided into 3.5 by 3.5 metre sections which are the size of the kitchen ; bathroom; scullery and breakfast room. The lounge and dinning area is seven metres by seven, with full house height.

Solar; wind generator and invertor generator with high capacity battery pack. Satallite dis installed for dull internet access – Skymes Vast TV Dish and modem installed. The most up to date free to air system.

HOUSE BOAT
An, on land only old house boat with sleeping, lounge and kitchen area – a delight for children of all ages.

We are above Shallow Crossing, mostly fresh water, with Bass and canoe – Kyak freindly. On the 400m water frontage there are two jetties
