“Jerrara Falls”
Over 240 acres of majestic countryside perched atop the scenic beauty of Saddleback Mountain. The main house is a Georgian style two storey manorhouse. The brick chimney from the original homestead is still intact and sits like a proud testament to the original owners who were one of the first families to settle in the Kiama area. It now doubles as a BBQ area.
The property was originally called Beautrees, as the surrounding area is known for it’s massive Morton Bay figs that are recorded on the National Heritage register. It was renamed Jerrara Falls when the spectacular waterfall, locally renowned Jerrara Falls, was acquired. There were originally two lots which were combined into one giving the massive 240 acre holding the property now enjoys.
The property has a myriad of wildlife and birds that are all visible from the living areas of the house. These include kangaroos, echidnas, ducks, the majestic Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos, wombats and rabbits to list a few.
Due to it’s 3 natural springs that permanently flow, the property boasts many cascading waterfalls and creeks surrounded by rainforest areas. This gives it a very special feeling of privacy and tranquility that allows a harmonic existence between the natural and rural animal life that inhabit the property.
The homestead has unobstructed 180 degree panoramic views from the mountains to the sea and a north facing outlook up the coast towards Sydney. The township of Kiama is clearly visible from the expansive patio area. It is one of the only two storey homes that have been built on the mountain.
The house itself has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, with a huge kitchen with a walk in pantry, living & separate dining areas. The majority of the interior is finished in Australian Red Cedar (now an endangered species and extremely hard to come by). Add to that the extensive use of hardwood flooring and it gives the house a very rich warm inviting feeling. The huge master bedroom has its own wood fireplace as does the living and dining rooms. T
