Heritage-Listed Mena is one of the finest and most significant homes in Central West NSW.

Built by James Dalton for his eldest son Thomas in 1875, Mena was designed by renowned architect Benjamin Backhouse, who also designed other historical Dalton homes including Duntryleague (1876), Kangaroobie (1902), Ammerdown (1906) and Galbally House (1918).

The main building has five bedrooms, two bathrooms, study, TV room, formal dining, music room, lounge room and library. There are ornate marble and cedar fireplaces throughout the home.

There are 4.3 metre ceilings throughout and the Australian cedar joinery and leadlight glazing in the formal rooms are regarded as some of the most outstanding of the period. The formal rooms all open onto magnificently tessellated tile verandahs.

There is a large well-appointed kitchen and separate laundry. Outbuildings provide generous storage space, a garden shed and undercover parking.

Mena received a Heritage Award in 2010 for the restoration work carried out by the current owners and the formal gardens have also won several garden competitions.

The entire property has been meticulously maintained and is presented in immaculate condition.
