Located 161km east of Bourke, 181km north-west of Walgett via Brewarrina Road, 64km north of Brewarrina.

COUNTRY:
The properties are principally level plains with some very gentle rises and areas of lower water course country from the Birrie River.
Typical of the Brewarrina district Talawanta & Ardrossan enjoy a good mix of better soil types with large areas of heavy black flood plain soils. The higher country, away from the river consists of chocolate, red and some red clay soils.
A large percentage of the property is heavy soil and grows native grasses, herbages, and seasonal grasses such as Mitchell, neverfail, flinders and clovers. Large areas are subject to occasional flooding.
The property varies from mostly open plains with some scattered coolibah, leopardwood, rosewood, gidgee and coolabah to the east.

WATER:
Domestic water is supplied from rain water tanks and piped dam water.
“Talawanta” is very well watered with a mix of tanks and troughs plus dams and frontage to the Birrie River. There are also six earth dams around the property. Much effort has been put into improving the water supply over recent years. Approximately 50 kilometres of piping is connecting tanks and troughs to the bore (which is on “Ardrossan”). Every paddock has tanks and troughs.
‘Ardrossan’s”Water is piped from the main bore on “Ardrossan” with a lot of new piping to tanks and troughs .
The Properties are Well watered.
FENCING:
Talawanta and Ardrossan look to be well subdivided. All fences are in good condition and are either ringlock or all steel with plain and barb wire. It is obvious that a bit of work has been done on fencing over recent years, and is continuing.
