Dunedoo is a small town set amidst gentle rolling hills and wide valleys adjacent to the Talbragar River. It is 60 km north of Mudgee, 325 km north-west of Sydney and 399 m above sea-level. It is a convenient stop along the Golden Highway and Castlereagh Highways and is ideally located on the crossroads to take you north, south, east or west. This pretty little town of 830 people in the central west of NSW has all the necessary services including hospital, chemist, doctor and a 15 bed aged hostel. A few minutes drive sees you in the larger center of Coolah, or a one hour drive will take you to larger centres of Dubbo in the west, Mudgee in the south with Coonabarabran and the Warrumbungles to the north and the Hunter Valley east. Dunedoo has a good water supply and a 40 Gate motocross track just out of town is of National standard and can cater for 500 people with hot and cold showers. It is the second largest town in the newly formed Warrumbungle Shire and functions as a service centre to the surrounding district which is given over to the production of wheat, cattle, mixed farming, timber, fat lambs and wool.
