My Story

I am a large 1,808 m2 block right in the busy rural town of Walgett. I have a large industrial shed which would be perfect for a workshop for any tradie or handyman. It is 40x20x15 ft with a good concrete floor. One third of my shed is lockable and my 18 ft lean-to adds flexibility to how I could be used. My house needs a major reno or knock down, but I have oodles of space to build, or bring in, a new home.

Walgett, situated near the junction of the Namoi River and Barwon River, is a former paddle steamer port, established on the Gemini’s pioneering river trip of 1861.

There are many attractions to enjoy in this charming town. Relax at the free Bore Baths, where water springs from the Great Artesian Basin at a naturally heated temperature of 41.5 degrees. This water is estimated to be around two million years old with reputed therapeutic qualities.

My town takes its name from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘the meeting place of two rivers’ and is a regional hub for wool, wheat and cotton industries. It is the gateway to the New South Wales opal fields at Lightning Ridge to the north and The Grawin to the west.
