Country
Generally flat to gently sloping with some low, timbered hills on the eastern end of the property. The country consists of rich, chocolate alluvial flats along Berrigal Creek which forms the western boundary. It then rises away to the east with some areas of lighter country interspersed with significant areas of excellent chocolate loam and black self-mulching soils which form the basis for much of the cultivation and open grazing country. The open grazing carries an excellent body of feed during the summer with grasses such as Queensland Blue, Red Grass, Windmill Grass and Plains Grass plus a good variety of herbages and medics during the winter. Timber consists of gum and apple along the creek to broad-leaf ironbark, white box, kurrajong and some pine.
Cultivation
Approximately 630 HA (1,556 acres) sown to oats and barley, a further 105 HA (259 acres) old lucerne and 485 HA (1,198 acres) of extra available cultivation that has been returned to natural pasture. Total area of cultivation is 1,220 HA (3,015 acres)
Water
Water is a feature of the property with semi-permanent water along 5 kms of Berrigal Creek on the western boundary and significant water-holes along another 3 gullies running through the property. 1 bore equipped with electric pump at Irragappa house, 2 wells equipped with windmills to tanks and troughs, 1 well equipped with electric pump at Bluevale house, 1 windmill and 2 bores not currently in use and 28 dams.
