Roughwood is located 65 kilometres west of Wagga Wagga and 25 kilometres east of Narrandera with 2.7 kilometres of frontage to the Sturt highway.

The land area is 962.02 acres on three freehold titles.

Roughwood has some grey self-mulching soils with the majority being red loams with native stands of cypress pine, yellow and grey box.

There are 340 acres laser levelled with check banks and tailings channels for recirculating run-off, the soils on the irrigation are red loams, ideal for winter cropping or Lucerne.
