THE RECENT HISTORY,
The home was built in the late Eighteen seventies in the suburb now known as Annerley and originally named “Fellnow”.
Located in Annerley and Chardons road the original home was reputedly owned for a short while by Lady Phyllis Cilento and her family. Not only their home but Dr Cilento was a general practitioner, with an active obstetric practice. Her surgery was attached to her Annerley home, allowing her to supervise her growing family. The Cilentos sold the property in 1960.
The 1973 Queens birthday weekend welcomed a new owner who was given 10 weeks to remove the home or it was to be bulldozed to make way for a “Steakhouse diner”

At 11.30pm in September 1973 the original home was transported in two large sections under police escort along Ipswich road across Victoria Bridge, down Queen street, passed Doomben Racecourse, down Lemke road into Bracken Ridge and arrived at its new location at 5.30am.

A new roof,Beautiful traditional veranda’s, and superb extensions with materials, some sourced from the old Albion Fire Station and Cloud lands transformed the original home into a beautiful Family Homestead.

1983.Another change.A new family and in time a beautiful new gourmet kitchen. This owner, an artist designed and crafted beautiful embroidery and tapestry depicting Australian flora and fauna and eventually sold the property to travel to China, commissioned to craft traditional Chinese tapestry.

The next owner changed the name to “Waratah” and in approx 1994 the stunning 180,000 litre pool was installed.
Some “colourful” history added with this owner ultimately left to spend time elsewhere “at Her Majesties Leisure”

In 1996 the current family of 6 made this beautiful home their own.Positioned on just over a quarter of an acre ,surrounded by established native trees and palm trees , nestled at the end of a quiet suburban cul-de-sac a Beautiful part of Brisbane’s History eagerly awaits a new chapter.
