Bush Block
7 Arnold St. Russell Island Qld 4184 Lot 94 on RP 132856 (UBD 268, G12)

Location: The block is located at the south western tip of Russell Island in a quiet street. Only 6.8km to the main boat ramp and jetty for the ferry service, and 6.5km to the shops and primary school. Rocky point is 800m to the west. There are large conservation zones close by.

Rocky Point is the most favoured location for a bridge or a new vehicle ferry, which would give fast vehicle access to both the Gold Coast and Brisbane CBD. There are current plans under discussion at the Redland Shire to put a barge service in within the next 2 years.

The Redland Shire prepared a Property Assessment recently, which indicates a house with 4 bedrooms can be built on the block. The trenches could be extended for a 5 bedroom house if need be.

Description: A level block with light bush (mainly wattles and a few gums).

Area: 607m

Looking North along Arnold St. The frontage starts at the big gum and goes to the fence.

Zoning Map: The block is outlined. The yellow blocks are owned by the Redland Shire and are zoned community purposes. Dark green areas are zoned Conservation.

0.5m contours: The block is fairly flat (12m to 11m above sea level).

Aerial photo: Close up shows a house to the north.

Aerial photo: There is about 1.5 square kilometres of conservation mainly to the east.

The green areas are zoned for conservation and roads will not be built there. The pink areas are designated for mainly residential development, with some pockets of conservation here too.

This is where a new barge service is planned. In the middle distance you can see Little Rocky Point on the Mainland 2k away. On the left in distance you can see Cabbage Tree Point
