The Brandon Tavern and Cabin Park is the most modern Complex of its type in the area and is the first port of call for the South bound travelers into the Burdekin. It boasts a modern tavern with TAB, 2 bars, bistro, drive-thru bottle shop, beer garden and outside dining area, 10 self contained cabins, 2 houses and a small van park. All the facilities are modern: some new and are all very well maintained. The very busy Bistro attracts a large clientele of mostly families from Ayr, Brandon and surrounding areas. All this sits on 9,111sqm of freehold land on two titles. This also allows the operation to be separated if required.

The public bar and TAB area has a capacity of approximately 200 people with flat screen TV and several monitors for the TAB. The next closest TAB is in Ayr 5km to the South. The Bistro is open from Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner and regularly seats 160 people comfortably. It has its own bar, servery for meals and a large and recently upgraded kitchen. The Beer Garden opens off the Bistro and is also regularly used for private functions and dining. It seats about 60 and is fenced and partially covered for the comfort and safety of the patrons. The Yongala Bar is a small private bar that sits about 30 people. It also opens off the Bistro and is regularly booked for private parties and dining.

The Cabin Park has 10 individual cabins that were just completed in 2009 and sleep from 2 to 5 people. Each cabin has a separate dining/lounge and bedroom with bathroom and toilet. The modern facilities include flat screen TV with Austar, internet access, split system air-conditioning, gas cook top and microwave. Each also has its own linen, plates and cutlery. There are two 2 bedroom homes, also just completed in 2009, that can either be the manager’s residence or rented. Each of these are well equipped with split system air-conditioning, stainless steel appliances and polished timber floors.

The Caravan Park caters for 8 powered sites and 5 non-powered sites with a recently completed coin operated laundry, shower and toilet block.

The Tavern is of concrete block construction, is fully air-conditioned and has a security system to monitor all public areas as well as after hours security.

Brandon is 80km South of Townsville on the Bruce Highway with an average of 5000 travelers per day passing the front door of the Brandon Tavern and Cabin Park. It is also just 5km North of Ayr, 1 hour North of Bowen and 2 hours North of Airlie Beach and theWhitsunday Islands. The Burdekin region is relatively small in geographic area but has a population of about 20,000 people. The area is renowned for its abundant water supply with the main industry being intensive irrigated agriculture.
