Approx 138 acre Cane Farm in the Rita Island region approx 12 min to town, with all pumps, inground pipes, 2 x Bay steel frame shed & 2010 cane crop. Property has approx 133 acres under cultivation with an estimated 4000 tonnes of cane for 2010 season. There will be approx 36 acres of 2009 plant cane for 2010 harvest. SOIL. Soil type is mostly river loam to sandy loams making it suitable for multicropping, harvestProperty has produced up tp 5000 tonnes of cane in previous years.
IRRIGATION. There is 2 x 10hp Grundfos Centrifugal Pumps on bores both very new, 1 x 25 hp Electric Centrifugal Open Water Pump (2 yrs old) and 1 x Electric 25hp submersible pump. Open water from the N.B.W.B can also be mixed with bore water if required. Property has a large amount of inground pipes P.V.C , Poly & some areas of concrete. There is an open water entitlement from the N.B.W.B. of 400 mg/ltrs charged @ $5.50per mg & and $12.93 /mglr for any excess water that is used over the entitlement. CROP. The 2010 crop is etimated at around 4000 tonne based on the 100 acres of cane currently growing on the property. The 2010 crop is mostly Plant cane, 1st & 2nd ratoon sugar cane making the 4000 tonne estimate a realistic estimate for this season. 60% or 2600 tonne of the 2010 crop has been forward sold at a Gross figure of $51.50/tonne or around $49.50/tonne net. The 2011 crop has not been fwd sold at this point.
SHED. There is a new 2 Bay Steel frame shed with concrete floor on 2/3rds of area. Rates are approx $4000/yr.
