The irrigation system (consists of pumps from open channels into underground poly pipes with risers to bring the water to the surface where required. Lay flat plastic flume from the risers delivers water to each row. All spools, clamps and cups are included. Because of the design and layout of these farms this infrastructure is much less on a per hectare basis compared to older, smaller more undulating farms. This has tangible benefits with regard to costs of operation (particularly wages), maintenance and refurbishment. A significant advantage also is that due to good water availability and irrigation system design this entire area can be fully irrigated in three and a half days requiring less than two hours of labor per day.
