Location.
Situated in the Stanthorpe District district of Southern Queensland, an easy three hour drive from either Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Ideally positioned so as to readily access both the Queensland and Northern New South Wales livestock and commodities markets in addition to feedlots and abattoirs.
The Country.
Comprised of predominately soft traprock country, both properties offer in addition, large areas, of soft creek flat grazing and cultivation country.
Stock Handling Facilities.
‘Inverary’ offers cattle yards, shearing shed and sheep handling yards. In addition ‘Pikedale’ has in place a new set of portable cattle yards, shearing shed/sheep yards with accommodation and AI/ET centre in place. A second set of sheep yards are located at the centre of the property, with a third set located to the north eastern corner.
Fencing.
The owners have spent in excess of $300 000 in recent times, on construction of new fences and laneways. In total approx 40klms of new fencing is in place.
Waters.
Both properties are extremely well watered. Five dams and a stock bore are recent additions. The bore reticulates water to troughs throughout the stud paddocks on both properties. The bore also supplies both the ‘Inverary’ and ‘Pikedale’ homesteads with water in addition to the shearing shed complex. Pikes Creeks runs for 10klms throughout ‘Pikedale’. Permanent spring fed water holes in Pikes Creek supplied stock right throughout the drought.
