All green acres can be watered from either the bore or the river. Irrigation country is broken up as follows:
182.86 acres under 9 x 49.5m span Valley lateral irrigator with poly twin nozzles and end canons. Lateral is fitted with larger tyres and high speed gear boxes.
150.7 acres under Valley Pivots with electric motors (one field of 9 x 49.5m span, one field 3 x 49.5m span with 2 pivot bases) all fitted with end canons. Pivot field surrounds include Trailco 300 irrigator with 3 hose and 440m 5 set aluminium pipes with sprays. The 7 span Irrigator can be alternatively driven by the John Deere motor at the bore or by electric 50HP motor with southern cross pump (SN: 24B2006A02, Model: MGH55A-F). 4 x 5 Perkins motor Model 50, Series 6 sends water through new underground PVC pipe to both smaller pivot sites and to hydrants for travelling irrigator.
66.72 acres under flood/flume irrigation
Valley lateral and pivot irrigators and a large percentage of the underground mains only 12 – 18 months old. Irrigators are also fitted with cell visor. The entire property can be watered in three days.
All irrigation country has been fertilised with a total of 4000tonnes from Whyalla feedlot in the last 18 months and 2 tonnes per hectare of Gypsum where needed. Stage 2 for future development.
