It is a wonderful story. The home is set in a treed gardens, in the heart of Howard, fronting three streets, and is 3.3 acres in total.
The house is built largely of cedar and beech, with 14ft high ceilings, two marble and two cedar open fireplaces, open 9ft wide verandahs and a grand double-stairway entrance. All of the traditional Queenslander features include wide surround verandahs, high T and G ceilings, and timber floors.

Purchase some Australian history today. There is potential to generate an income with the property currently promoting Devonshire Tea’s and part of the home is used as a museum. The current owners have been here since 1980 and are motivated to sell. A full inventory of period furnishings to suit could be available by negotiation.

History
Dame Annabelle Rankin, Australia’s second female senator and the first Queensland woman elected to the Australian Parliament, lived there as a child and the property surrounding (5000 acres) was owned by the Rankin family.
At one time it was staffed by cooks, maids, gardeners and groomsmen, with grass and “ant bed” tennis courts, a croquet court, a billiard room and stables. This property is on the Heritage Register (NOT Heritage Listed) which means it is has significant history in the Burrum District Area, however this does not prevent the New Owner from making subtle/appropriate changes to the property to suit.
