Fabulous “Hekarwe” is located approx 10 – 15 minutes from Tully, on the way to the famous Tully Gorge.

Hidden 400 meters away from a private country road and nestled amongst 33 hectares of old and new growth rainforest, is the main house. This split-level, open plan design has been built from a variety of timbers, (many from the property), with floor to ceiling louvers and hoppers made from cedar wood and silky oak allowing for cross-flow ventilation and the peaceful exchange between lifestyle comfort and the rainforest setting.

The residence is ‘open plan’, and split-level, featuring high ceilings throughout. The ground level has a large bedroom with bath and vanity, a library and office, and a country kitchen with ample storage.
The upper level features the dining room, lounge and second sleeping area. A wood fire oven in the centre of the lower level both warms the house through winter months, and reduces the humidity through summer. Although the property is on mains electricity, solar powered lights and fans reduce expenses all year round.

Already approximately 10 acres of cleared land exists for orchards and a paddock, 20 more acres can be cleared should you so desire. Approximately 5 acres of plantation timber exists for future builds.

The workshop is a short walk,(30 metres) down from the house, a great space that keeps Hekarwe surrounds healthy.

Approximately 400 metres to the north of the main house and shed, and nestled in a rainforest pocket beneath the hill with two springs is the Caretaker Shed. This building was originally built for the previous owners son, a comfortable 190 m2 dwelling with septic toilet and outdoor shower/bath. Mains power and solar now run lights, fans and fridges.

There is ample space for vehicles, tractors and machinery in both sheds.
