At the end of WW2, returned soldiers were given the opportunity to settle down in the small cane village of El Arish to re-start their lives. One such soldier built his bride a new home at 36 Wilson Street and together they lived there happily for many many years bringing up their children.
The current owners purchased the home in 2014 and thought it would be their ‘forever’ home. Sadly for health reasons, they have to move and are looking for a new family who will love this character filled home as much as they and the original owners have loved it.
There’s a welcoming patio at the front, which over looks Wilson Street and a great place to sit and look up at the mountain range behind El Arish. Three spacious bedrooms flow off the living area – two with built in robes and the main with air conditioning as well. It’s remarkable really how even in this warm weather, the house is relatively cool and captures the breezes. A dining room, where many a family meal has been enjoyed, and the kitchen share a large open area which leads down a set of stairs to the bathroom and laundry. An inviting cool casual seating area takes up the corner space.
Still under shelter you’ll find an undercover BBQ area, outdoor seating and the spa. The 5 person spa has been specially built and is a great place to cool down on a hot summer day or warm up on those cooler nights. There’s even a refrigerator in it to keep your drinks cool !
The owners have taken great pleasure planting a myriad of fruit trees including paw paw, avocado, tropical apple, bush lemons, Valencia oranges, kumquat and passionfruit. The rear yard has a shed and a single lock up garage.
The owners have a building report which they are happy to provide
