Who could blame the owners for being reluctant to part with this secluded acreage in Garners Beach with such unique characteristics?

Attracting the warmth of the northern sun in winter and capturing the year-round south easterly breezes as they sneak around the headland in summer, you know that you are standing in Gods own country.

Absolutely secluded and serene yet only a 12 minute drive to the Mission Beach shopping village for wining and dining at your leisure. And, if you prefer the livelier action of the city, its just a short 2 hour scenic drive north to Cairns.

This spectacular location has lots of historical appeal as the area was once frequented by the former owner, the late Prime Minister, Sir Harold Holt. Zara & Harold Holt first came to Mission Beach to visit the Bussts who lived on Bedarra Island in the 1960′s. They loved the beauty of the Mission Beach area so much that they bought the land at Garners Beach overlooking the Coral Sea. As Treasurer, Sir Harold wrote his budgets at Bingil Bay. When he became Australia’s Prime Minister in January 1966, he was still treated as a local and his privacy was respected when the family took their much deserved holidays in their shack. The current owner recalls how the helicopter would land on the beach and men in suits would carefully carry an attach case up to the home where he resided. It was later revealed that the mysterious brief case contained the daily newspaper. This became a frequent occurrence.

Holt & Busst used to sell coconuts and pineapples on the corner near the El Arish Tavern and their Portsea entourage, bikini-clad, would soak up the atmosphere at the local pub. Holt Close & Holt Road perpetuates Sir Harold Holts name in the area and a plaque can be found on a rock on the beach at Bingil Bay to commemorate John Busst, artist & lover of beauty who fought that man and nature might survive.

Garners Beach is a very special place and is home to a myriad of wildlife the endangered flightless bird, the cassowary, peacocks, wallabies, bandicoots. The plant-life is amazing and spectacularly beautiful with a startling display of brilliant colours while growing profusely and unaided in this wonderfully tropical climate.

Watch the boats go sailing by over a vast expanse of ocean, with the Barnard Islands in the distance, covered in a dense green blanket of thick tropical foliage.

Absolutely stunning and for those seeking something private & unique, its well worth an inspection at $3.25 Million.
