The current owners designed this home themselves. They wanted something different, airy and a sanctuary to come home to. The choosing of the block of land was also important as they didn’t want to be stuck in a concrete jungle. They focused on natural airflow and light with an open plan feel. They designed an entry with a deck through large timber doors with pleated screen leading to a combined living, dining and kitchen. This spills out through a 5 metre opening onto a large 8x4m covered entertaining area.
Throughout the house and the kitchen with its big gas cooktop, exists a very relaxing and homely atmosphere. The master bedroom is a joy, a huge 19m2 in size with a large window and louvers to allow the breeze to flow. The home reflects their love of Balinese and tropical decor, with features in both the ensuite and main bathrooms, and natural finishes and colours both internally and externally. Outside is an expansive landscape of both native and exotic rainforest plants, which created the sanctuary feel they originally aimed for. There is also a 36sqm powered shed with added storage space and an extra large double garage also with storage. This tropical focused home also boasts solar power.
