This farm lies on the banks of the Upper Haughton River. The farming operation of this block is made very easy because of the farm design together with the abundance of the water supply. There is an ideal house site close to the farm shed on the banks of the river, with a large variety of established fruit trees which are flourishing in the rich alluvial soils.

Country :- There are river loam soils along the river frontage running back halfway through the farm to silty loam clay soils to the remainder of the block. The farm is fully laser leveled and set up that excess water runs straight off the farm into the recycling pit at the end of the block. Block is known to be flood free and drills run at a slight angle for 680m across the rectangular block which catches all run off into the recycling pit.

Water :- Flood irrigation with 1015.3ML allocated. There is 923ML of Sunwater allocation via a channel pump with a 10 x 10 40hp electric motor. Also 92.3ML from a 4 bore with 15hp submersible pump. Surplus water flows in a recycle pit with a 6 x 6 20hp electric pump. Water quality very suitable for cane/small crops with no known salt. Underground pipes consist of PVC down the short side of the farm to polypipe through the longest boundary. Pumps are all lockable with key and security of water controlled from within the shed.

Crop and Machinery:- There is a 8% share in Upper Haughton Harvesting Co-Operative. Farm was first planted with sugar cane in 1995. Average cane production figures over the past 10 years are 11,155 tonnes with a CCS of 14.6 and 131.16 tonne/ha. The farm has been fully sprayed and fertilized for the 2007 crop.
