THE TEA ROOMS
This beautiful, old, well maintained building is full of history, heritage and great stories. Once the Eureka Hotel and built in 1865, this Queensland Heritage listed building represents everything visitors want to experience when they come to the Tea Rooms. Guests can enjoy scones, coffee or light meals in quiet elegant gardens.
Dining for guests can be inside the old building, on the verandah overlooking the garden or in the garden surrounded by trees and nature.
The premises has a fully equipped working kitchen with large cold room.
It is fitted with a brand new solar hot water system.
The Tea Rooms have their own male and female toilets.
Water is supplied by bore which is filtered through a water softener plant as well as a 22,000 litre rain water tank.
A Restaurant Liquor License and “Off-Site” Liquor License was obtained in 2006 and is transferable.
THE CHAPEL AND FUNCTION SHED
The chapel is set on a quiet pristine area of the property approximately 150 metres walk from “The Shed” The 6.5 x 3.6 chapel is constructed of 4 large timber posts with corrugated iron roof. It is ideally situated so that all guests have full view of the proceedings by it’s slightly elevated position. The Chapel can cater for weddings, renewal of vows, baptisms or naming ceremonies. The Chapel has vehicle access.
The Shed – This is set directly behind the Tea Rooms and used to be the old Cobb and Co shed and is 13m x 15m under a corrugated iron roof and new concrete floor – this is an open-plan outback building. It’s large open space gives it enormous application for every imaginable function.
The Shed comes fully equipped with
4.2m x .2m timber L shaped bar with built in stainless steel sink.
Tables and chairs for 100 people are provided.
There are many power points around the shed to cater for cooking/urns, music.
A two door fridge from Schweppes has been given for use in this area.
There are also new toilet facilities with 2 ladies and 2 male toilets incorporating 1 of each being suitable for the disabled.
THE GIFT SHOP
The Gift Shop is currently situated opposite the Tea Rooms in a large corrugated iron shed with front and back verandahs with awnings covering the outside display areas.
The large corrugated iron front and back doors allow for natural light and breeze.
This is in an excellent, high visibility location for visitors to the Tea Rooms to browse and purchase gift and souvenir items.
It has a phone/fax and Eftpos facilities as well as a fridge and storage shed beside it.
The shop fit is complete and well stocked.
A 12 seater Ford Transit Van would be sold with the Gift Shop. This is in excellent condition, is fully air-conditioned and is wired for a microphone

PACIFIC BLUE WINES
The tea house has been chosen by the multi award winning Wine maker as their exclusive cellar door. This is situated behind, but attached to the Tea Rooms. Offering wine tasting and sales.
This timber building is 6m x 6m with it’s own toilet and shower,
Air-conditioned and has front and back covered verandahs.
The Cellar Door offers our customers the opportunity to experience wine tasting and purchase locally made wines.
The Heritage Tea Rooms are located approximately 35kms north-west from Townsville on Thornton’s Gap Road, Hervey’s Range. The historic split log inn – the oldest known building in North Queensland was built in 1865. Formerly the Eureka Hotel, it sits around 400metres above sea level and is often 5 degrees cooler than Townsville. The Tea Rooms are surrounded by shady trees and dry tropical bushland.
