Nelly Bay is a large bay that has over a kilometre of beach and a large residential population. Centrally located is the Nelly Bay Supermarket complex which includes a Cafe, Travel Agency, Chemist, Bottle Shop and more. Nelly’s long sandy beach The southern end of Nelly Bay has a fringing reef which can be reached by swimming from the beach. Glass botttom kayaks can be rented from this point. This end of the beach is a popular spot as there is a budget resort right on the beach at the southernmost point of Nelly Bay. The northern end is home to the harbour development which offers a safe harbour for private and commercial vessels. The beach at this end is quiet and a nice place for a picnic or swim.
