Cudgerie Homestead is one of the first homesteads in the Cooroy region. The main home was built in the early 1920′s and commands views of the eastern side of Black Mountain across the Noosa Hinterland to the sea.
As a bed and breakfast, it is one of those places where guest consistently say on their first impression “Wow, this is nice!” Guests have commented favourably on the original wood panelling and wide pine board floors, the way the garden almost blends with the wide verandas and the way this brings the sound of birds right up to the house. They like the distant views through the trees and the intimacy and cosiness of the bedrooms and the warmth of the living room and kitchen. They are always impressed with the infinity swimming pool and its views across the wide valley to Mt. Eerwah. The diversity of fruit, native and exotic trees and shrubs in the garden and a lemon scented gum tree in the parking area add to the ambience of the homestead. At night, our guests love the way you can see the stars and planets without the glare of street lights and commercial establishments. The calls of frogs and night insects can fill the air after sunset and this has a settling effect on guests and owners alike. The guests delight in the long breakfasts on the veranda where they can bathe in the morning sun and contemplate life while the world moves on, temporarily without them.
Cudgerie is unique and in the opinion of one recent visitor from Switzerland, who owns a B&B there, Cudgerie is the best B&B they have experienced during their extensive travels.
