What an absolute treasure this home is! Were it to have been completely finished it would be so much more expensive. The current owners have added an original 1880′s Queenslander to an existing home. They have retained the character of the older home, so the floorboards are gorgeous, the windows original and of course the ceiling height impressive. The new (old) home has been stumped on steel, and re-roofed and wired.
The homes can be closed off from each other as simply as closing the double doors, thereby offering dual accommodation or just decent spacing between different ages of family. It also opens the possibility of working from home office space.
The pool offers a real swim and is long enough to do proper lengths. The mainly cleared grounds (1.75 acres) slope towards the dam and then back up again,so the view you get from the covered veranda is all your own. Very peaceful.
Air conditioners are in most bedrooms, as are fans. The main living room is surprising spacious and with its cathedral ceiling feels inviting, day or night. A separate study / TV room and built in verandah offers heaps of room for a study or gym apparatus.
So how is the home not ‘quite finished?’ It’s perfectly liveable but you might just want to tweak and polish: the results will be so worth it!
