Tallowwood Farm is a performance horse and spelling farm located in the beautiful Noosa hinterland town of Pomona.
The scenic 102 ha or 253 acres, is only 3 minutes drive to Pomona with its village atmosphere and only 35 minutes drive to the famous tourist town of Noosa Heads. Nestled under the towering Pomona Mountain, Tallowwood Farm has all the facilities and accommodation one would expect for such a quality horse property.

The horse facilities are outstanding and have to be inspected to be truly appreciated.
The dominate structure is the indoor arena complex which is 60 metres x 20 meters in dimension.
It is surfaced with the sought after Mary River Sand regarded by many as the best sand surface one can use. The building is galvanised steel construction with concrete footings and has been designed and built by one of Queensland’s premier shed companies. An arena sprinkler system is connected to a 10,000 gallon tank which is feed from the large dam via a solar pump. There is also a second 10,000 gallon rainwater tank plus two 5,000 gallon tanks off the stable complex which services the auto horse watering system throughout the property.
For the showjumpers, there is a 40 meter x 40 meter outdoor show jumping arena again surfaced with Marry River sand. Both arenas have been constructed by well know Todd Cunningham of Equestrian Land Developments.

The stable complex is located adjacent to the indoor arena and consists of 4 oversized 5m x 4.5 m boxes with rubber cushioned flooring and rubber lined walls complete with automatic waters.
On one end of the stable complex is the agistee’s room which measures 4.4m x 8 m and is complete with shower and toilet. On the other end of the stables is a similar room which is the kitchen area with its full kitchen facilities plus its own washing machine. Connected to the stable complex via an all-weather walkway is the 8m x 7m feed room with two roller doors. At the rear is a double wash bay complete with hot and cold water. At the front of the feed shed is a large, all weather covered tie up area.

For machinery storage the property has a large 21m x 9m machinery shed with two 6m lock up bays with high clearance doors and a large central 9m open storage area ideal for frequently used vehicles such as slashers, tractors and quad bikes. For the horse float or gooseneck, at the rear is a full length 21m x 6m wide skillion roofed area. The shed complex is connected to its own water supply via 20,000 gallon tank with pressure pump.

The property is well drained, flood free with flat and undulating slopes perfect for fitness training. There are a total of 29 paddocks with 19 shelters and 3 day yards. All paddocks have automatic waterers fed via a pressure pump. The paddocks are serviced by a lane way system allowing for easy and safe movement of animals. All paddocks have been pasture improved with an excellent grazing mixture of Rhodes grass, Kikuyu, Shaw Creeping Vigna, Blue Grass and Paspalum. Fencing is either timber post with five strand plain wire or timber post with eight strand plain wire – three being hot-wired run via solar panels and a top “sighter” wire. All the forest areas have been fenced off while along the railway line there is double fencing with extensive tree planting.

Water storage is excellent because in addition to the large tank system there is also a large spring fed dam which is some 30 meters deep and is an excellent source of water for irrigation. Additional to this there are also a further 12 smaller dams throughout the paddocks.

The house is both new, having been completed December 2014 and versatile as there are two complete homes in one. A modern 3 bedroom home on one side and a 2 bedroom home on the other side with interconnecting laundry and garage.

The 3 bedroom home has a timber floor and is furnished with the latest modern fixtures and fittings. The open plan kitchen has electric hot plates, oven dishwasher and large pantry.
The island bench with its two feature overhanging lights has a double sink, dishwasher and drawers with soft closers. The main bedroom has a walk through robe, shower, bath and toilet while the second bathroom is spacious and has a shower, large vanity and separate toilet.
In addition to the 3 bedrooms there is a reading room which can act as a separate TV room. The lounge and dining area opens out onto a large outside entertaining area through two sets of bi-folds doors which allows easy access from the kitchen to the outside making this area perfect for casual meals and entertaining. There are many highlights to this property yet the main feature in my opinion is just the beautiful land the property offers. It really is a special parcel of land ideal for those looking to have horses and maybe graze a few head of cattle yet only a relatively short drive to the beaches.
