Praise-Winning Residence Boasts Knockout Views

The vantage point for a quintessential Frank Macchia-designed grand masterpiece, is in the exclusive dress circle of northern Sunshine Beach. And what a beguiling aspect.
It’s on the edge of the Noosa National Park, minutes to the surf and the leash-free doggy beach and boasts knockout views from Lions Head along the Coral Sea coastline to beyond Mooloolaba and Point Cartwright.

Awarded House of the Year several years ago, the captivating six-bedroom residence built by Gary Emanuel, has innumerable detailed design features including the initial vision statement, best observed from the street.

The ‘butterfly form’ was all about integrating the site with a curved roof line to best reflect the sloping curved typography. “Once the form was established then everything fell neatly into place,” explained Frank, “with orientation taking in the better part of an inspiring outlook of green and blue. The form was also conceived so a ‘floating’ deck area could be created giving a sense of hovering over the surrounding land and seascapes.”

The interior neutral palette harmonises naturally with the exterior and the upper level exudes light and luxury. Soaring ceilings and walls of massive timber glass sliders and windows with dark frames, also polished timber floors and 3m high timber doors add warmth. The main master suite with a sunken bath opens out to a terrace. Stairs lead to a roof-top observation deck and needless to say there are many ooh and aah moments watching breaking waves, cruise liners also dolphins and whales.

Massive living, dining and family spaces incorporating a huge kitchen with stainless steel bench-tops, extend alfresco to covered decks, outdoor kitchen, wet bar and a terrace surrounding the pool on two sides. All add up to innumerable entertaining options, even in winter around the eco-fireplace.

On the ground level, more of a retreat, are three bedrooms, living area with aggregate-washed concrete floors, an under-roof terrace, bathroom and kitchenette. A feature of the courtyard and terrace is a waterfall which flows into a reflection pool.

“The scale of this much-admired residence has to be seen to be believed,” says Tom Offermann Real Estate’s Eric Seetoo. “Its location is second-to-none and the panoramic views can never be built out”.
