WE LOVE OUR SON – “One day he was a carpenter. The next day our poor boy, we should say young man, was in hospital, a quadriplegic! During his long stay in hospital we built for him a separate home in our large back garden.His bathroom, kitchen and open plan living room/bedroom designed so he can move freely and independently around his own home. Even the entrance door opens electronically.
At the same time as building a home for our son we renovated our 30 odd year old home back to “as new”. Brand new everywhere, kitchen, bathroom new paint new carpet new tiles the lot. And we added a “Balinese inspired” covered outdoor lounge and dining area beside the in-ground pool. Finally we added an enclosed space with a 2.9 metre entry to allow us to put his specially equipped tall van under cover. The door is electrically operated to enclose the space so he has privacy while getting in and out of the van.
Now! All three of us are moving on together and the sale of our home represents the opportunity for another family with similar needs to acquire two residences on the one parcel of land.
